Welcome! I'm Misty, a professional word nerd with nearly twenty years of publishing experience providing editing, writing, proofreading, author coaching, project management, and manuscript critique services.

I consider myself lucky to have known since I was a kid that wordcraft is my calling. From childhood through years of climbing the corporate publishing ladder and learning from the best at HarperCollins, to this stage of my journey working as a freelancer on the content I love most, I have always known—words are the path to connection.

My Experience

During my long career in publishing, I've worked on all sorts of content types from books to marketing materials, periodicals, blogs, and technically complex works such as tabletop RPGs and catalogs.

I've collaborated on books from several genres. Some of my favorites are tabletop games, fantasy, poetry, mystery, YA fiction, self-help, and alternative spirituality like tarot and witchcraft.

I have experience collaborating with content creators via editorial agencies, with folks at large publishing houses, and directly with authors themselves.

My Specialties

TTRPGs and their unique intricacies. I've worked with such clients as Wizards of the Coast, Beadle & Grimm's, Kobold Press, Hit Point Press, Lazy Wolf Studios, and 2CGaming.

Poetry, in all its beautiful nuance. My identity as a poet and longtime love of this art form combined with my many years of professional experience make me uniquely suited to help you craft your collection.

Self-help, especially regarding the topics of religious deconversion and narcissistic abuse recovery, as well as other stories of survival, healing, and reclamation.

Alternative spirituality, specifically tarot and witchcraft. I also love opportunities to combine my specialties, like I was able to in Hit Point Press’s Fablemaker's Tarot, which I authored and art directed.
